Norbar Torque Tools Ltd selects Nikken's C6 Tooling solutions
Norbar Torque Tools Ltd of Banbury have announced that they are investing in two new machines equipped with C6 Spindles and Nikken tooling to compliment their existing Mori Seiki C6 machine that is already on the factory floor. These machines will be installed in the existing factory facility and then relocated by 2014 in to Norbar's new 170,000 sq. ft. facility which is also located in Banbury.
Neil Bennett the Day Shift Manager at Norbar believes that "selecting Nikken as the main supplier of C6 tool holders for the two new machines was a logical and simple decision based on the outstanding performance and quality of Nikken's C6 products that we already employ in our existing C6 machine”.
Norbar, like other engineering companies, demands that the solutions they select from trials perform as promised. They rely on suppliers such as Nikken to offer quality hands-on support and advice on best-practices and the most suitable solution(s) for each particular project / job.
The majority of Nikken's C6 polygon tool holders are manufactured with Nikken's "Major Dream" vibration dampening system built in. This system dramatically increases tool life and provides increased cutting performance by rapidly eliminating the harmonic vibration that is typically encountered when machining with standard BT, IT & HSK tool holders.
Eliminating harmonic vibration will also substantially increase spindle life, reduce cycle times and should ultimately result in an improved Return on Investment as the machine's spindle performs at 100% of its maximum capability.
For those who select C6 Slim Chucks for their C6 spindle machine there is one further major advantage. Slim Chucks use an 8 degree collet system rather than the more common 16 degree taper. This results in a smaller nose diameter for the tool and increased clearance on what are otherwise tough jobs to access with competitor solutions.
Nikken provides a similar range for organisations using machines with C8 spindles.
